Mirtos is a small, beautiful and peaceful village at the southern coast of Crete. The really quit village counts some more than 450 permanent residents and has for the visitors a lot of tasteful restaurants, cafés, three supermarkets, nice small shops and a large beautiful beach.
If you are interested in archaeological tours, you can visit the ruins of the important Early Minoan settlement (2600-2200 b.C.) at the site “Fournou Korfi” (3,5 kilometers to the East), the Middle Minoan farmhouse at the site of “Pyrgos”, western to Mirtos, and the ruins of the Roman baths, with the interesting mosaic pavements, at the site of Aghios Antonios, also western to Mirtos.
In case of health problems, there is a Medical Center at Mirtos.
At the beach you can rent boats and other things.
